Minutes of Meeting Conducted on January 27, 2011

(Trustee Meeting #4 of 2010-2011 School Year)

Trustees Attending Meeting: Joelle Kaufman, Aliya Gordon, Carrie Ridge, Eyal Ofek, Josh Smith, Kathryn Karp, Madeline Benson, Roger Feigelson, Larry Lustig, Sharon Hartley, Fran Lent, Marina Milshtein, Dana Spanger, Brian Lipson, Paul Lipman, Adrienne Weil, and Madeline Benson.

Non-Trustee Attendees: Sherry Lipson (on behalf of PTO).

RCWJDS Staff Attending Meeting: Barbara Gereboff, Fred Winer

Meeting Minutes:

Joelle delivered the D’var Torah.

Barbara gave the Head of School report: Highlights are:

• ·      There are 36 applications in for Kindergarten;
• ·      There are 7 applications in for grades 1-5
• ·      There are 7 applications in for grades 6-8.
• ·       

Barbara is participating in several outreach meetings to families who may be interested in joining the school and is closely tracking and communicating with any families that may be thinking about leaving the school.

Madeline updated the board re: the most recent financial position of the school.  She said she was quite pleased with how the budget was looking.  Fred reported that the School now has ~$300,000 on hand.

Paul updated the board about the annual campaign.  He was pleased to report that thus far this year Wornick has pledges that total approximately $275,000 and that at least 90% of the staff have made a contribution to the annual campaign.

Sharon informed the board that we are now looking for new Trustees, so please contact Sharon with any suggestions.  Sharon also mentioned that we are going to update the bylaws. 

Joelle reminded everyone to sign up for “Feast Your Mind” and to tell your friends to sign up as well.  It should be a great event, and will hopefully raise significant money for the school.

Professor Paul Liptz (who is a guest lecturer at the PJCC) spoke to the board about the status of Jews around the world in 2011.  He then took questions from several board members.

The Board then met in Executive Session and all non-trustees left the meeting.   Joelle led the discussion.  Questions were asked and discussion ensued.

The meeting adjourned at 9:01PM.
